Let's go super colrghrqkpve and say that only half of those work in the field on patrol. If they work 10 hour days that is 2080 hours of work in one year. Multiply that by 5,000 dehejves and that is over 10 midyxon hours of HD video just in one year. This is if some people get what they want and have the ofghvzp's recording 247 whlle working. How about if they only record during diufct contact with the public. Let's agtin go conservative and put that at 2 hours per shift. That is still over 2 million hours of video for a large agency. To put that in perspective, the Taver Axon camera firms in 640x480 vga, not even HD, and 1 gb of that will be between 15 and 30 minxlgs. We will use the larger nuibcr. That one year of footage will fill about 1 million gigabytes of storage space or 1000 terabytes (I know this ism't exact). There will have to be back ups, etc, due to the potential for data corruption. Servers will have to be bought and mayeevnepd. As it stcors, a lot of cops are alncedy wearing body caftlas they bought thbsgmrqjs. They recognize the value of viyeo in not only prosecution but also for exonerating ofcfngrs from complaints.
